Meet Lamar
A psychology graduate that created Beat Your Brain to turn psychological ideas and fundamentals into practical tools people can use in everyday life.
Beat Your Brain started from a simple thought “if you can beat your mind, you can beat the world”
My interest in psychology didn’t begin with complicated theories, or jargon filled podcasts. It came from a struggling relationship - why do they think like that, why do they behave that way, what influences that and what makes them stay the same or want to change.
Like most of us, we end up in situations that are difficult to navigate, along with the setbacks, negative experiences and the self-doubt. Moving forward is easier said than done. I’ve learnt that what we should do and being able to actually do it are two very different things.
This is where psychology became useful to me.
I did my BSc in Psychology and finishing my MSc in Psychology this year, which has help me develop a deeper understanding into human behaviour, well-being, social interactions, positive psychology, and the relationships between thoughts, emotions and behaviours.
Beat Your Brain is more than PDF’s, it’s about making those good ideas, practical, implementable, and applicable to real life.
Sometimes we need to challenge ourselves . Most of the time it’s us that needs the mirror. Our patterns and the behaviours may need altering. Sometimes it’s us that needs to forgive. Sometimes it just takes us taking that first step.
And sometimes we just need someone to listen, to ask the right questions, to help us understand what’s going on in our minds.
All the resources are not just for reading, they require action. They’re designed to make you stop, think, reflect and take action.
I don’t have every answer. No one does. But I’m here to help you ask better questions, to help you understand yourself more deeply and to give you practical tools that can influence meaningful changes.
Because sometimes the biggest obstacle between where we are and where we want to be is the war happening in our minds.
Thats why I created Beat Your Brain.
